Welcome to Maison Hearth

Where real life lives, flour flies, and nobody’s pretending the kitchen is spotless.

Hi. I’m Michele—and if you’re here, chances are you love good food, cozy homes, creative messes, and a little sass served right alongside your comfort recipes.

Whether your day starts with an ice-cold Coca-Cola or the hope of a margarita later, Maison Hearth is a place where real life shows up exactly as it is—no filters, no perfection required.

Maison Hearth was born from real life. The kind with kids (three of mine), grandkids (five), a house that’s lived in, not staged, and a kitchen that works hard. I live in Western New York (nope, not anywhere near New York City) with my husband of 12 years, lovingly known around here as Mr. Pita. He’s a stroke survivor, seven years in, and while life shifted, it didn’t stop. We just learned how to pivot, laugh harder, and appreciate the small, beautiful, ordinary moments a whole lot more.

This space isn’t about perfection. It’s about showing up.

You’ll find recipes that feel like home, comforting, nostalgic, and sometimes a little indulgent. You’ll see baking days that don’t go perfectly, DIY projects that may or may not involve a redo, seasonal decorating rooted in warmth (not trends), and honest talk about motherhood, grandmotherhood, caregiving, and keeping your sense of humor when life throws curveballs.

Around here, mornings and afternoons call for a crisp Coca-Cola (sorry, I don't do coffee), and evenings—if the day earned it—end with a margarita shaken just strong enough to take the edge off. Life isn’t one-size-fits-all, and neither is what’s in your glass.

Maison Hearth is where:

  • The kitchen is clean, not spotless (there is a difference).

  • Store-bought shortcuts are welcome (though I have gotten so I try not to use them anymore, but no judgment from me if you do).

  • Flour on the counter means something good is happening.

  • Creativity is encouraged—even when it’s messy.

  • Sass is optional, but highly recommended.

This is a place to slow down, stay awhile, and remember that a beautiful life doesn’t have to be picture-perfect—it just has to be yours.

So crack open a Coca-Cola or shake up a margarita (salt optional, sass encouraged), pull up a chair, and make yourself at home.

What’s in my glass: Whatever the day calls for—Coca-Cola or a well-earned margarita.

Thanks for stopping by Maison Hearth—where the house is lived in, the food is made with love, and the sass is always included. Come back hungry, curious, and ready to make a little mess.
